The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment yesterday issued the alert about Eagle, Summit, Pitkin and Gunnison counties, where there have been about 50 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The alert said if you live in, or have visited Eagle, Summit, Pitkin or Gunninson Counties in the last week, you are strongly advised to minimize social contact.
Eagle County leads the way with at least 18 confirmed cases.
K-12 Schools are shut down through Wednesday April 8th--although the schools are providing a Grab & Go lunch program starting today. Parents can drive up, stay in their cars and tell staff the number of lunches they need starting at 11 o'clock this morning at Eagle Valley and Battle Mountain High Schools.
Colorado Mountain College is shut down: they extended Spring Break for another week.
Vail & Beaver Creek ski areas are closed.
Eagle County Government is restricting in-person interactions at county facilities and will be providing services via phone and/or online services.
Vail Health/Colorado Mountain Medical are seeing an influx of businesses sending their employees to get tested for COVID-19 before they can return to work. You should note that testing is not necessary for all patients and is being reserved for the most critical cases. Only individuals who are at high risk should be tested right now.
There are 131 cases in Colorado. 1 person has died in Colorado from COVID-19
The Lift-UP Food Pantries are closing until this Thursday, March 19th. Lift-UP says they will use this time to meet with City and County officials to form a plan to move ahead.
